Default Heads?

I have a gen III LS1 that has 241's on it, now before you go accusing me of "flaming" or what ever its called, this is my first LS so i have no clue and doing a search brings up far more reading than i want to do, I just want to know what is a good base head to start out with. Im not racing, drifting or turning 6G etc where they need to be the buffest heads there is but they do need to get up and go when needed, its in a Blazer so wheelin, doughnuts in the dirt and climbing things and passing the occasional moron on the freeway will be in order.
I do not know what is in the heads or what cam it is as I bought it with the swap in it, I am taking it to a LS tune specialist here in CO to have it checked out so in the mean time what is your opinions of head choice etc. are 241's good or will something give more of a punch etc.

241's can be ported with good results. If you want more compression and good low end torque get some 706/823 heads with their smaller chamber and slightly smaller intake valves. They port as well as 241's and can take larger intake valves once ground for them.

G Atsma, always grateful for your all your insight on here on Ls1Tech. However I think you meant 706/862s not 706/823s. And on 706s best to avoid ones with Battery Logo known to leak with time.
