Default Ls1 Head/cam upgrade help_are Trick Flows worth the wait??

Hey All -
Finally decided to pull the trigger on a head/cam upgrade to my 98' T/A LS1 (w/ 28k mi) with the following bolt-ons: 1-3/4" LTs, ORY, Hooker catback, SLP LID, A4, tranny cooler, 3600 FTI stall w/ stock 3.23's plus several suspension upgrades. Had pretty much decided (with my tuner/installer) on going with some TF 215's possibly matched with a Torquer v2 (but not fully committed on cam choice) until I saw TFs were 2 months out, along with quite a few other options right now. Looks like TSP does have some of their ls6 2.5's on the shelf so am currently weighing that option. Looking for something that would mesh well with existing bolt-ons and provide some good mid-range power bumps. Definitely don't want to "settle" by any means but the lead time is tough to swallow.

Was just hoping to get any thoughts/suggestions/feedback on which route to take. I'm far from an expert on any of this. Quality of product is definitely a priority as well!

Thanks in advance!

May want to see what Brian Tooley has in stock. A lot of people like him touching up the TFS 220s as cast.

243/799s are generally good up to 600 lift as is. I've done some hand ported ones and had friends run 10.8s-11.1s with 230 and 228 ntake duration cams. One had a fast 102, other a fast 92, all bolt ons, 3600 stalls, light wheels. One with 4.10s and other with 3.73s. Since Torquer 2 has 600 lift, i would think you'd be better off with fast intake than porting heads for the money.

I don't think BTR is touching up TFS heads any longer

Any other suggestions are always welcome! I know there's a TON of info on the forum but I've read more posts than I care to count at this point. The car isn't a daily driver but will likely never see the track either. No plans to replace gears/rear end or tranny (until something breaks) so would like something that meshes well with current mods. Trick Flows may be a bit overkill but my tuner pointed out that they would set me up well for any crazy plans down the road! May just be stuck waiting 10wks for whatever route I go at this point.

You're correct. In late 2019 I contacted BTR about doing a bowl blend on some TFS 220s but they informed me that they no longer do that. I ended up going with PRC 225s and I'm really happy with them.
