Default Valvechain Stupid mistake

Today I had a really big senior moment, I installed the push rods and rocker arm without the rail and torqued both sides down before noticing what I had done. Please don’t be to rough on me because I’m 63 and this is my first LS rebuild. My question is, could I have mess up thing. When I noticed what I had done I removed the rockers and pushrod then put it back together with the rail installed and it seems ok, but I just wanted to ask.

I’d check the intake ports if you don’t have ported heads. Make sure the bolt didn’t crack the heads

Thanks
I’ll check that today hopefully everything is fine.
I can’t believe I did that.

Is there a particular way the tighten the rockers, I just started in the middle and worked my way out to both ends. This is the only thing I didn’t YouTube until this morning and I see guys doing them in fireing order. I’ve got all them torque to spec and rotated the motor at the balancer and everything looks good.

Torque them down on the base circle of the cam. So you don’t pull threads. My shaft mount rockers used studs(less chance to pull the threads) but they are connected intake and exhaust so the normal sequence every one recommends couldn’t be used. If they are already torqued you should be good. Measuring pushrods is very important to a quiet valve train and good power.

This motor is out of my work truck with only 120k miles. I finally found my small mirror so I could see inside the intake runners and I think I’m ok.
