Speaking of which, one thing I think should happen to C.M. truck cams is to narrow their LSA a few degrees, after I saw what that does to the BTR Truck Torque cam with its 111LSA on a 202/202 profile. Torque added to below 2500, more than I've seen with any other truck cam.
Want to come work for us? Lol, we think in terms of valve events but when you see these next cams, you will see they truly fill a hole that currently exists.

LOL!! Awwww MAN! Is that ALL you got??
Yeah, I get the valve events reference, but in conversation cam specs are easier to deal with.
Other factors for me are- being stealthy (stock or near stock idle- gotta keep the smog ***** at bay), low IVC to build low end torque, and hopefully able to retain stock tune because I hear the newest inspections watch bitsum numbers to see if the tune is messed with. That last might be just a monster-under-the-bed groundless fear (Calvin & Hobbs ref.).
Having spewed all that.... another few weeks?

Fellow catalog junkies concur, but I think if summit busts out some new LS grinds they'll probably start a new thread?

I can vouch for the quality of their stuff though as I have an early version 8714 that I ran for over a year sportsman drag racing. That engine hydrolocked in my driveway after the season and a rod came in contact with one of the cam lobes. I cleaned the lobe up the best I could with steel wool, Cross my fingers and threw the cam in my cobbled together Auto X car. Put another 20,000 mi on the cam and more than 10 auto-X events bouncing the engine off the rev limiter. I took the cam out a month or two ago to replace it with something a little tamer with less duration and the lobe that I had to scrape rod metal off of previously and smooth with steel wool had "machined" itself smooth as glass along the lifter path and the lifter wheel was still perfect.

Wow, that is impressive! Whoever is grinding their cams is getting it right, both in performance and build quality. Good job, Summit!
And yeah, I kinda hope the new cams warrant a new thread, too. Hoping it's soon!

As the great Happy Gilmore once said...Somebody's closer.. Kidding aside we're getting there but not quite there yet. We're waiting for these to come into stock and be available to the public before we announce specifics. We'll be sure to let the community know in a new thread when that time comes

What fuel mileage are you getting now, and what fuel mileage are you seeking?

Thank you.

Thank you.
Highway mileage is about 18.5 @ 70 mph, and around 14.5-15 around town
It has just over 200k miles on it.
In the near future some factory electric fans are planned, which should kick things up some.
I wouldn't mind getting around 20-22 mpg highway. It's a goal, though not sure how realistic.
Thanks for asking!

I thought this was an 04 GTO, and you only getting 18 with a 5.3, seems low to me.

Stampede.

Sorry for the confusion, but that's pretty damn good as is, is your Tahoe 4x4?

Thanks.

No, it's 2WD. When I heard Holdener gets 20mpg in his extended cab pickup, I got jealous. I KNOW he doesn't go under 70mph where possible... lol

Thanks.
