6.0 ls top end help
I have a lq4 block with stock crank and forged piston and rods (Pro LS Piston and Rod Kit, 364 Cid., 4.000 bore, 3.622 stroke, 6.098 rod, 2cc Flat Top, 10.7:1 @ 65cc, 10.4:1 @ 70cc, File-Fit Rings). Also have efi system with 102mm intake and throttle body
What is going to be the best cam and heads to go with this bottom. This is my first performance build and can be very confusing to figure out what is best
thank you

Really need more information: like intended use, NA, forced Induction, NOS, automatic, stall, gear or manual, gear plus car weight etc.
Without that information, a generic Jack of all Trades NA set up to get discussion going, I'd favor:
706/862 heads ported by TEA or TSP, ~58 cc chamber for 11.4 to 1 compression.
Pat G stage 2 custom LS1/LS2 camshaft
228/232 .629"/.615" 112LSA +4
Definitely can do more cam in light car w/gear etc.

Going to keep n/a for a while. Guy at my work says to go aftermarket heads. But this is my first go round so Im taking any advice for what is best to go with my bottom end dont want to spend 2k on heads for them to be over kill and not used to full potential

A nice working "budget" solution old school LS1 set up is a set of stock LS6/243/799 heads with good valve springs like BTR Platinum or similar plus a 231/236 sized cam on 114. It will make similar power to a 224/228 cam'd engine with decent ported stock heads but it won't drive quite as nicely.
AFR also has an LS6 style replacement aftermarket stock replacement head called an AFR 210 ~$1,100. They'd be like new out of the box stock LS6/243/799. They should work well with a similar type cam.
Personally, I like ported stock heads & medium sized cam vs big cams & stock heads. Both work well but usually medium cam deals are easier to daily and enjoy.
Sounds like you might be doing something close to what I'm building for my Chevelle. I'm putting a 4L80E with ~2800 stall behind mine and MIGHT boost it down the road so I tossed in forged rods/flattops. I just got my 317's back with a fresh PRC stage 1 job I've kinda narrowed my choices down to the Summit stage 1 turbo cam (aka Ghost cam) or a Sloppy 1.5/2 cam. The new Sloppy "best" looks good too.
