Ok... max rpm

Thanks 02*C5
I really appreciate all of you putting out there how high you've been spinning up your SBE LS engines! Has anyone had a RPM related failure?
My first build was an 02 C5. The cam specs where 236/242 615/615 on a 112. I reved to 7200 with shift points at 6800 with a nitrous 150 shot window switch cutting off at 6500. All on stock internals and bottom end LS1. These engines are a lot tougher then we give them credit for.

Add my SBE LQ9 (PRC heads (231/234) to the 7000 RPM limiter club shifting at 6,800 RPM. NOS Mini Progressive kills the spray at 6,700

If Martin said, shift at 6800, set limiter at 7100 and see how it responds. You can add or take away 100rpm at shift to dial it in (assuming street tune and not dyno). A correct and healthy valve train will rev without issue or concern beyond induction system limit. An old unhealthy valve train can/will bend push rods if out of control due to over rev. If SBE was disassembled and rod bolts reused without measuring stretch, this will be an unknown. Only SBE rod bolt failures I know of were reused bolts without stretch measured.
If not looking to get the most out of your combo, lower shift point and limiter. Your valve train won't complain but you will...
