Default LS1 PTV 243 milled .30

I have an ls1 w a tsp bfd cam specs (233/240 .629" .600" LSA 108)
i was wanting to throw on some 243 milled over will i have to go with shorter pushrods for good PTV clearance or will i be alright also anything else i need to know it’s my first engine build sorry

also where i’m getting the milled .30 243 it’s $450 i also have the choice of getting brand new oem 243 for $400 dollars where i know i can run my 7.4 pushrods should i just stick w stock?

That's a very large cam, It would most likely need the pistons flycut if you go with the milled heads. Stock heads and a more versatile camshaft and easy to set up valvetrain would probably be a better starting point for you if it's your first build

I'm not sure what your build goals are but that much duration and overlap is only going to run properly with very extensive supporting mods and a very very well though out complete setup. (Intake, fueling, and exhaust as well as the entire drivetrain need to be considered to get the most out of it and it's not something you can do one part at a time) Even still there will likely be drivability issues that you will have to life with in an optimized setup with that much overlap.

Hey man thanks for the info the rebuilt engine actually came with this cam i have a BTR STAGE 2 cam kit w all the components nesecary should i stick w that i knew the BFD cam was a big one but i planned on slowly adding all the supporting mods but like you said it’s something i can’t do all at once you got any more tips on it i can really use any information at all

Yes the BTR kit and stage two cam is a great starting point its very nice go with that, You will still need to measure or check push rod length however unless it came with them, and it will definitely require some computer tuning to run properly, but once that's sorted out it will be very drivable. Do you have a manual or automatic?

it is an automatic i bought a stall for it already as well as transmission cooler and yes the pushrods did come w the kit they’re stock 7.4 size
