I just purchased a 2007 Silverado classic with a lifter tick. I bought it for a turbo project with the intentions of replacing lifters. Installing a turbo cam and head studs while I’m in there. I have already purchased all the parts needed to rebuild the top end of the motor and sent my original 706 heads to Texas speed for stage 2 port and rework.
while prepping the passenger side I noticed what appeared to be a HG failure between the HG fire rings allowing water to sit on the deck and cause very faint pitting between the front two cylinders. I have removed all the old gasket from the deck surface already as well as wet sanded 400grit with a sanding block for a few passes. The pitting is very minor and almost non noticeable to the fingernail catch. What do you guys think?
I will be putting boost to it in the summer. How much? Who knows…. Im tempted to run it 🤣

I may have jumped the gun and been a bit paranoid. Straight edge on the block and I cannot get a feeler gauge through anywhere. I also can’t see any light between the block and feeler gauge. 👍
