First start up - running very rough and backfiring

^^^^Yes, I've used the Lingenfelter TRG-002 box on my new engine as well. You still can use the short harness, you just have to unpin two of the wires at one end of the harness and switch the holes they are in. Simple as that. I needed the short harness as the rest of my harness was not long enough without it. Worked like a charm, just takes a small, thin screwdriver blade or flattened piece of wire to unpin the wires from the connector. Just remember you did that or somebody is going to be real confused down the road.....
