Experts : 382 Stroker Cube ???"s
OK , so the lunati stroker kit = 382 cubic inches , if its bored or honed somewhere between .035 " & .050" is that enough to change the cubes ? and if it ends up being an equation , could you help with the dimensions ? for example bore" x stroke" x # of cylinders = Y , all of which i dont know!! , i do know that my block was honed .050" before the stroker kit went in . thanx in advance !
thank you pro stock john ! i am missing something though :: 4.000 stroke x 3.905 bore = 15.62 , x 8 = 124.96 , what am i missing ?

pi/4 x (bore diameter)^2 x stroke x # of cylinders = cubic inches
So, 3.141592654/4 x (3.905)^2 x 4.00 x 8 = cubic inches
.7853975 x 15.249025 x 4.00 x 8 = 383.25 cubic inches

thats exactly what i was looking for !! thanx alot ! i should just shut up now that my questions are answered , but your answer gave me another question : isnt Pi the square root of ten ? if so , then my calculator says 3.16227766 , or does the square root of ten have nothing to do with it ? its been a long time since school !!! , thanx again
Pi is not the square root of 10. It is the ratio between the circumference of a circle and its diameter. Thus, if a tree is 1 foot across, a 3-ft. tape measure will not quite fit around the outside. (12" X 3.1416 = 37.6992").

Thank you very much !! I dont know where i came up with that square root of ten idea . This has been the most informative thread i have started. THANKS ALL !!!
i just thought i would throw this out there , since you guys were so much help the first time , i think 383 = 6.3 liters , but what is the formula for the conversion to go from cubic inches to cubic liters ?
Easy displacement calculator:
bore x bore x stroke x number of cylinders x .7854
(.7854 is the little square of numbers in the upper left corner of a calculator, so you don't need to remember the numbers). The formula also tells you increasing the bore a given amount makes more cubes than increasing the stroke the same amount. Of course, very few people stroke just .005 or .030 inches!
61 cubic inches per liter. (ok, 61.024)
So 383/61 = 6.28 L or 6.3
or 6.28 L x 61 = 383.08 cu. in.
Liters are volume like cubic inches.
bore x bore x stroke x number of cylinders x .7854
(.7854 is the little square of numbers in the upper left corner of a calculator, so you don't need to remember the numbers). The formula also tells you increasing the bore a given amount makes more cubes than increasing the stroke the same amount. Of course, very few people stroke just .005 or .030 inches!

So 383/61 = 6.28 L or 6.3

Liters are volume like cubic inches.
so 3.905 x 3.905 x 4 x 8 x .7854 = 383.25 / 61 = 6.282798286 got it , thanx , and ive heard that all you can bore an ls1 is .005 , or i would have gone more ! now everybody has these sleeved , & big bored mommas , if i would have known about them when i was in the middle of my rebuild , i probably would have gone with the 421 , but ill wait , maybe some day , as for now im trying to get a cam for my 383 that will make it do more than 340 rear horse thanx again !!!
I just use .0164. I multiply or divide depending upon from which measurement I am converting.
