Hello LS Tech's, my name is Josh and I recently tore down a LQ4 from a Sierra that came with the purchase of a car. Has aluminum 317 heads and the lower compression pistons. Have all the rods and Pistons out and got to looking at everything side by side and some rods are the same and some are different. Is this a normal deal or something I should be worried about? No clue what year engine this is and do not think it has the gen 4 rods and Pistons. Any input would be appreciated. Cylinder 1-8 from left to right.
These are some standard LS1 rods. Are we seeing two different sides of the rods?.

I could be wrong. One other option is that this engine could have been worked on and had rods swapped early in its life for piston slap, and rods and pistons were replaced under warranty.
