Cam : Stock Headed a4?
I know this question has probably been asked a million times, but I am going to ask it again because I can't seem to get good advice. I have a 98 a4 t/a. It has a st3500 tc, mac headers with an off road x-pipe. I never goto the track and am mainly looking for a very nice street cam. I am getting full tuning so I am looking to see what size cam I should buy to really rip up the street. Any advice would be appreciated. Right now I have a t1 cam sitting at home and was about to install but I wanted to know if I should go bigger!
No, I think the T1 is an excellent cam for what you have. You might see slightly better numbers with a TR224 cam, but in all honesty, with stock heads and no tuning, you will be very happy with that T1! If I would have made one suggestion, it would have been to go with the B1, since it has a 114LSA which is more A4 friendly. You might have some idling problems without programming, but other than that the T1/B1 cams are awesome for stock headed A4s.
He said he is having it tuned, i say go with TR 230*/224* on a 110* lsa That will 60ft.harder than any 114* cam and with tuning will work good with ported or unported heads! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
