Default Exhaust valve clearance issues

Got this ls1 back from the machine shop. Shop did entire bottom end, all I had to do was put the heads on. I ran a torquer v2 cam, ls7 lifters, and 62cc ported 799 heads. Confirmed pushrod length was 7.395 (I’m running 7.400) I put my used head gasket on, put solid lifters in, snugged the head down, tightened rockers to 22ft lbs and cranked the engine over (on the stand). When checking the clay for clearances I got .099 for intake and exhaust varied between .073-.084 which is below spec. What are my options here? Using stock gm mls head gaskets.

I’ve been running my engine for about 10K miles with .060” intake, .080” exhaust clearance. I let it warm up before I beat on it. The redline is set at 7000 rpm, no issues with clearance.

my only worry is that when I first measured it it was around .054 and after numerous times the readings would alter for the exhaust from .054,.073,.084 so they’re not exactly consistent

I’m not using checking springs but am using solid lifters for testing. Are you supposed to fully tighten rockers to 22ft lbs or just set them to zero lash??

You’re checking PTV using the 7.400” pushrods and the solid lifter?

so should I have possibly more clearance than what I’m currently reading when the hydraulic lifters go in?

Yep. I always use an adjustable pushrod extended to zero lash with checking springs.

I don’t have access to checking springs at the moment. How much clearance do you gain with putting the hydraulic lifters in?

Do solid lifters have zero preload? If so then could I add .070 for my ls7 lifters to my .073 exhaust valve specs to get .143?

If you have a decent hardware store they might have a simple spring selection. It doesn’t take anything special.
Or, if you have dual springs, just install the inner spring only.

With valve reliefs like those, I wouldn’t expect PTV to be an issue. That cam isn’t big.

Adj pushrod to 0 lash on the base circle, rocker bolt tight just as KCS said.

My thoughts too, Ive ran bigger cams with no valve reliefs and not had issue on .045 head gasket and milled .010 heads
