Crankshaft compatibility question Anyone know or have used a 2014+ 5.3 crankshaft in a gen 3 ? Is it possible or will it physically work.?
I have a 2001 5.3 that needs a crank and can get new late model one free.

I will be having the whole assembly balanced because I am using gen 5 rods and flat top pistons,but was wondering about flywheel and balancer fitting etc also?
Pretty sure the LT stuff is all 8 bolt crank flange. I can’t confirm this, but it’s what I’ve read in the past. Not sure about the balancer, but I’ve seen guys put the new L8T 6.6 crank in LS blocks, so it should work. I’m not much help here…
