Best choice for engine project?
#3 definitely clears out a lot of garage shelf space! Could probably spruce the appearance up a bit with a set of red Holley tall valve covers, red WARR 102 TB, and a few other tweaks.
#3 is unique a collection of spare parts. Would look pretty ordinary but each part has a backstory. Used Nascar racing spec LS2 block from truck series, my old cam from another project, used & reworked by Bret of Land Speed Cylinder Heads (formerly of Katech) GMPP/LPE LS6 heads w/new mid lift VJ optimized for 4 inch + bore, Black Friday special deal on Summit crank...etc

If you go with option #3, I might be interested in LPE LS6 intake.
I want to refresh or replace the 4L60E before doing anything motor wise. Going LS2 Stroker will push me towards a RPM Transmission Level 5 4L60E. It would take anything my NA LS2 Stroker could dish out. Getting the RPM Level V done would take most of 2023.
I'm pretty slow 🐌 with builds please see 1 in 1000 high mile 02-z28's new lease on life. Has taken 4 years to get the 02 Z28 to this point. Here's my 99 T/A build from 2017 that went a bit faster.
Cino, that's a fair point about the 239/244 cam, could be bit big and high on the rpm. Would have discuss with RPM Transmission and see they felt the Level 5 4L60E would be suitable. Agree, may have to consider a smaller cam when talking to engine builder etc.
Will definitely keep you in mind and in loop if the 90mm LS6 intake comes off car.
Can feel the project creeping 😭 ....wink

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time

A) The EPS 226/230 113+3 cam in the GMPP Crate 430hp LS3 would would be better hp wise than a Hot Cam. I think the valve events would work OK in an LS3, some one please feel free to explain if I'm wrong about that. Doesn't have the massive split etc that's so popular etc.
B) Likewise an LS3/L99 short block, use GMPP LS6 heads, Mamo 102 intake & EPS 226/230 113 cam plus LPE box could also work. Probably be down 40 to 45 wtq from the LS2 404 but make similar peak hp.
404 LS2 Stroker, GMPP LS6 heads (~245cc intake ports), EPS 226/230 113 cam, Mamo'd Fast 102
Have cam degreed to get ~47 on IVC even if that ends up being at -3 etc?
