Default 2001 Chevrolet Camaro SS SLP issue

Hello everyone,

I was curious if anyone had any tips. I recently bought a 2001 Camaro SS that had a hole in the block it is completely stock. I bought another LS1 engine and it had the 853 heads so I believe it came out of an earlier Camaro maybe 99-00. Anyway I put this motor in and I keep getting a P0300 random misfire. I put brand new TR55 plugs in it and closed the gap to .052. The car had 1/8 of a tank of 5 year old gas so I took it to the gas station and filled it up with fresh 93 octane. Still getting random misfire and car is running rough. Any ideas? I don’t have a tech 2 scanner that can show me counts but I do have a BlueDriver that shows me some pids.

any help is appreciated.

I would start with injectors being really dirty to clogged. They prolly need a good cleaning due to the old fuel in the tank. Even mixed with fresh gas, it’s trash and full of varnish. Really hard on injectors. Check the easy stuff suck as grounds from your engine swap.

Look on the misfire counter and see which cylinder(s) are misfiring. If a misfire doesn't meet the threshold, it won't give you a cylinder specific DTC, but you can still see it on the counter.

does BlueDriver have a misfire counter? I looked but didn’t see one.

Update: I borrowed my buddies INNOVA scanner which doesnt do counts either. I ran a self check on the Chevrolet OEM option. Anyway on the self test it came back with 40 DTC's all of which are P0xx codes.

Any ideas on that? Currently check engine light isn't illuminated car just feels like it is running rough.
