I'm running the Summit Ghost cam (8715) in my 408 in my 70', I don't have many miles on it yet but it's works well with the stock converter in my 4L80E with a 3.50:1 9" out back. I have a bit more cubes and I believe my stock 6.0L 4l80e converter is a bit looser than 4l60 converters though, still think it would work fine until you upgrade down the road. I also just picked up a new TBSS intake to replace my truck intake, pretty much adds a proven 10-15hp on 6.0L+ engines across most of the rev range over the truck intake. The BTR Truck Norris would also be great choice but I think the 6.0L could get away with a bit more duration on a stock converter.

Warr throttle body for the win. Mine has been flawless on my tbss intake and was simple to tune.

OP,

You've received some great advice from the community. As others have mentioned our SUM-8715R1 "Ghost" cam would be a great fit for your combo and goals. Specs on it are .600/.575. 222/234, 115+3 with -2* of overlap. You can have a smooth idle to a noticeable lope depending on idle speed. It has excellent manners and driveability. While it may be smooth and mild-mannered it packs a punch when you lay your foot in it. With our .600" lift beehives it'll be happy out to 6,800+. We recommend a 2,500+ converter but it's not at all required.

We know our customers like combos so we put together some cam combos for our Pro LS cams. We have cam and spring combos or cam, spring, and install/gasket kit combos. Check out all of the Ghost cam combos here.

For a good showcase of the driveability of the Ghost cam check out the video below from fellow member @Mavn. This is in a C6 Vette with an LS3, auto trans, and stock converter. He even shows the fuel economy hovering around 18-19 MPG cruising at 80 MPH on the highway.
