24x reluctor too damaged?

There should still be enough of the tooth profile to be read by the sensor.
I would still be concerned about what caused this, though.

I’m with Ron here. I’d imagine that the reluctor is bent pretty badly from the looks of that damage. Replace it. You won’t find out if it works or not, even if it’s straight, until you go to start it. That would be a TON of work later, and an easy job now. Have the crank checked for trueness, and have it maged while the shop has it. Better safe than sorry.

I was uneasy even if people said to go with it, because like yall said no way of knowing until tons of work later. So, instead of putting together the short block I took off the top part of the reluctor on my old crank and swapped it over.

Yeah definitely replace that..I have a similar thread here about reluctor problems. Put a new 383 in my car last winter and had misfire issues ever since getting it running, could never finish the tune on the dyno because it would misfire at high RPM under WOT. Went through hell changing parts, sensors, checking grounds etc only to finally pull the engine and find out the reluctor had several bent teeth. Sent the engine back 2 days ago to have the shop replace the reluctor, going to have them install a billet one piece wheel instead of the stamped steel 2 piece riveted design.
