I could find. The shortbock for both is a 5.3 with flattops.

The LS is Summit Pro LS Stage 4 cam, Katech ported 706 heads, and truck manifold.

The Hybrid is the BTR swap cam, stock L83 head and L86 truck manifold converted to port injection.

Looks like pretty comparable. So long as you aren't looking to power a full featured street car, it looks like an option for a low investment small bore build.
Lionpride that's good info as its hard to find these comparisons

However what these power graphs don't show is how the engine would feel on the street regarding part throttle operation (tip in throttle and overall response etc.). A much smaller cathedral head that makes similar peak power would be ALOT sharper and more fun to drive due to much higher port velocty.

If any of you have switched from an LS3 head to a good cathedral that would give you an idea of what Im driving at and the MUCH larger port of a Gen V LT head would make the comparison/disparity Im discussing even greater....especially in an engine with smaller displacement

Its not just about WOT numbers.....that only gives you part of the whole picture. The bulk of most people's driving is actually part throttle if we are discussing this for a fun street car application.

Just something else to consider if your truly thinking about this swap

Anything worth doing is worth doing well. Build it right the first time....its alot cheaper than building it twice!!

I wouldn't consider this for a street car. Even though this is smaller L83 head, it wasn't designed with port velocity in mind. For us, this is just an experiment without a destination. Can we make 525 flywheel NA with no money?
We'll resurrect this top end again in a couple of years build an smaller displacement short block to turbo.

Practical application? Just the drag strip or maybe low budget LS sprint car class, something where you are all out, all the time.
