if its a lifter it should not hurt anything as long as you can deal with the noise but you need to make sure thats what it is.

today, I drove the car a few times. The longest trip was abou 15 minutes to autozone for some CD2 lifter treatment. the only time it tapped all day was for about 2 minutes on the way back from autozone. I'm thinking/hoping it's a lifter and it's cleaning itself out. Hopefully, the CD2 helps a little and I'm gonna change the oil again tomorrow to make sure there are no metalic streaks or anything and I'll add another bottle of CD2. Thanks for all the responses everyone
