if its a lifter it should not hurt anything as long as you can deal with the noise but you need to make sure thats what it is.

 

today, I drove the car a few times. The longest trip was abou 15 minutes to autozone for some CD2 lifter treatment. the only time it tapped all day was for about 2 minutes on the way back from autozone. I'm thinking/hoping it's a lifter and it's cleaning itself out. Hopefully, the CD2 helps a little and I'm gonna change the oil again tomorrow to make sure there are no metalic streaks or anything and I'll add another bottle of CD2.
