Default Another car wont start w/ cam install

Installed an '03 LS6 cam and springs. Install was smooth. Followed LS1HowTo instructions and everything went fine. Went to start the car and no joy. It wont turn over. Here's what I know so far, its not the springs. I pull off the valve covers and they are all fine. There are new plugs gapped at .055. All wire connections are on sercurely. The battery has plenty of juice. I made sure install was dot to dot. I haven't pulled off the timing cover yet to check the timing chain. It's stock and that's the only thing left I can think of. What else am I missing. I need help. This is killing me. Thanks guys.

If it won't turn over, then there's an electrical problem. Check your battery connections.

Yeah that was my first thought. I have gone through and pulled out and disconnected everything from the spark plugs to the battery and then reconnected everything and still can't find the issue. I may have to go through them a third time.

When you say it won't trun over, I assume you mean it won't fire but turns over? You missed some connections, probabaly to the coils harness. You hear the fuel pump yes? Check the fuses also.

Yeah it won't fire. It turns over but not smoothly. It sounds different though than if I turn it over with the main coil harnesses (white connector on each side) disconected. I am going to go over it all again. I'll check the fuses as well. Thanks for the help.

Ok, I went through twice yesterday (4 times total) and connected every part of the electrical system and still the same issue. I am confident it is not a connection.

Can anyone tell me what the symptoms of a broken timing chain would be? That's the only thing I haven't triple checked.

Any other ideas? I'm sorry guys I know this is getting repetitive but I am stumped.

just remember FUEL AIR SPARK.

do you hear yoru fuel pump when ignition is put in on position?

Spark--have you done the ol' screwdriver in a plug wire test on at least one plug wire from each side to make sure the bank is getting spark?

Are you positive the coil pack harness' are on correctly? they ARE numbered according to cylinder, they can in fact be on wrong.

is your cam position sensor plugged in for sure..including the connection for it most people dont' know about up at the front of the passenger side fuel rail?

have you scanned the car, any codes being thrown and if so which ones?

Well my car is fixed. This is just for folks using the search feature. I hate pulling up a thread with my exact problem with no solution ever mentioned. So may be my stupidity can help others (although I doubt many people on here would make a mistake this dumb LOL). I printed out the directions on LS1howto.com (excellent directions by the way) and didn't look closely enough at the photo. I lined the cam alignement hole dot to dot with the crank dot .

Big thanks to Mike and Jay over at G-Force for helping me out and getting me on the road. They definitely took care of me.

Hopefully it wasn't far enough off to bend any valves.

Nope. I got really, really lucky. I bent up 3 pushrods but that was it. Its holding compression like a champ now.

It moves out for what it is. The idle is completely stock and above 4 grand there is a definite improvement. I don't think I would call it a big difference. I figure a conservative 20 rwhp. Not to bad for $125 for cam and springs though imo. I am very happy with it.
