Default Drive-by-wire has a cable?

I've been fighting a problem with the APP/TPS on my 97 vette LS1 engine that is in my 93 Typhoon. The codes indicate the the APP and TPS sensors don't match. I was going to remove the accelerator pedal so I can check the sensors but I found a cable attached to the to the pedal mechanism. I haven't seen any reference to a mechanical cable linkage when using a drive-by-wire setup. The pedal assembly is super hard to access in this vehicle and I may have to remove the seat and console to get to it. FYI I've already replaced the TPS which did not help.
Is this cable supposed to be there?
These are the codes thrown:
P1120 TP Sensor 1 Circuit
P1125 APP System
P1220 TP Sensor 2 Circuit
P1281 APP Sensor 2 Circuit Performance

P1516 Commanded vs Actual TP Performance (TAC)

Where does the cable lead to? The answer to this will be very helpful. I'm surprised you didn't mention this in your post.

Yeah I know... it is really hard to access so I couldn't tell. It does go in the firewall but I couldn't see where it goes. If I had someone to assist me I'm sure I could find out quickly. Plus I can't see it from the engine side of the firewall since it is blocked by the headers and engine. I was just hoping someone would know why there would be a cable at all...
