Exclamation Building and Advice

Good afternoon,
I am building my first LS based engine. I'm wanting to use a Howards rattler cam. I was wondering if what lifters and other mods do i need to do to the heads to help with durability and power.

A suggestion:
Before you buy that cam, maybe look at the Summit line. They have a good team that will help you get the right components.

What’s your plans with the 79 C10 street cruiser?
what cubic inch? Stock heads or aftermarket?
what intake? Carb or fuel injection, NA or boost?
Summit does have some good choices and show up here from time to time.

This wont be for the C10 unfortunately, i will be putting this LS in a demolition derby car. Thats kind of where I need to start is heads and cam, but I don't know where to start. I want to stay fuel injected. I also want a choppy cam, that allows high rpms.

Not to be too much of a twit, butt...

Is that REALLY where it's at in a demo derby? All of those I've ever been concerned with, making sure the rear and transmission didn't grenade when wheel-hopping in reverse, and bumper-proofing the cooling system, were about all that REALLY mattered. People would get out there in some station wagon (heavy, weight dist towards the rear) with some indestructible 4-cyl (takes longer to overheat even if the rad is tore off and laying in the dirt 50 yards away) and WIN.

Again, I don't really know your business, butt... seems like you're worrying about something that ought not be worried about. [/hagrid] Let alone, MONEY spent on. Just make it as bulletproof as you can and put as many bars as your venue's rules allow around it.
