What is the engine used for?
For best low end torque at the expense of some high end power, like for a truck, the 706 heads will be fine.
But if you're building a street terror, a set of rectangular port heads and intake manifold will be needed.

The 706 heads should be fine with a dual plane intake. If you are using a single plane intake, then you might run out of air before it makes peak hp. I would use 243 heads on a 6.2L. Your compression will still be high.

I've been running stock 706 heads on top of stock LS3 flat tops stuffed in an old LQ4 block for years in a Camaro so the stock LS6 fuel injected intake manifold and the stock Camaro exhaust manifolds, It's a really fun flexible combo, It will swallow any cam you want to stuff in it and It will retain excellent drivability due to the high port velocity which also ensures that it will have great mid-range no matter what How else you do to it?. Have fun!.
