Hey, I don't mean to disrute this thread to much. But could someone tell me a good place to order this cam from? I noticed Texas S & P has it. Was just wondering if that would be a good choice [I'm betting it is, but might as well ask while topic is up]. I am saving for the almighty APE 427. But I want to spice up my Camaro before getting the new engine. I don't feel like being rich import bait.

Also if any one is from Colorado, any good shops which know the LS1 and how to work on it? This would help greatly for the things I am getting into are passing my knowledge by [But so does basic math lol j/k I hope..]. Preferable a place around Denver. But I know this is wrong forum, and off topic. So answer to my first question is all I need.

you might also want to look into the new 233/239 cam, based off the 231/237 design but seems like it has more potential, more of a weekend cam either that or magic stick v3

I daily drive this cam. The PRC Dual Spring kit that TSP sells would be excellent for it.
I actually used Comp 918's for about 9k miles with the 231/237 and experienced no problems whatsoever.

It's sold by Texas Speed and Performance (Hence, the TSP 231/237 ).

www.jakelatham.com, in the cam section if you scroll down there is a C5 with the 231/237. That's what sold me, mines sitting here next to me; I'm just waiting for heads and other goodies.

I'm curious, how does the mail order tune work? Do you send your PCM into TSP and they work it from there or what?

That's exactly how it works... you pull your PCM and overnight it to TSP, Jason works out a tune and overnights it back to you.

I had a Predator already, so I didn't go that route... I had James @ runninwiththedevil.com build me a custom Predator tune for the cam and it has worked out well for me.

I ran the 231/237 for awhile and it was a great cam. Never had it in long enough to go to the track, but with a good tune, you should have no problems. We are running a special on cams through Christmas. The 231/237 is $310 and the spring(PRC Dual)/pushrod package is an additional $329.99. If you order a cam kit, the mail order tunes are only $200!

I have the 231/237 cam in my FRC vette and it is EXTREMELY streetable. It's not designed on the XER lobe so its much easier on your valvetrain and doesn't act like a huge cam at low speeds. I get very minor surging under 1500rpm still untuned. I make 421/385 at the wheels and drive this daily in traffic no problems ever. Oh yeah in Texas Heat no probs either. You will love this cam.

Oh yeah I have 918's on now and at 6750ish my power falls off EXTREMELY hard. I think my springs are giving a lil then.

How many miles do you have on the springs Tweakd?

The PRC gold spring kit is definately the best option for long term performance & durability, but alot of guys run this cam with 918s.
