Default Help Identifying Bolt Hole

I知 in the process of putting a 5.3 back together in an s10 swap I知 working on. I cannot figure out what goes into the bolt hole pictured. It is at the back of the valley cover on the passenger side next to the cam position sensor.

Thanks

It was used as a grounding location originally from the factory.

I made the mistake of not tightening that bolt down after a 5.3 swap in our 05 Tahoe and ended up having connectivity issues with DBW. It was kind of a PITA to reach once everything was back together and in the vehicle. I've found that working on trucks is not something I'm fond of.

As someone who has identified many bolts, many threaded and unthreaded holes, and many bolt holes, I can say 100% confidence that is a bolt hole.

It's a ground wire hole.

Years ago, I had a customer with an '06 Suburban with a DBW problem that would send it into Limp mode; it would NEVER do it when he brought it into the shop, and I replaced EVERY part of that system, and ran continuity/ shorting checks on every single wire. Everything checked out good, and he still had problems.

That ground was the problem.
Never again.
