6.2 dod and vvt delete timing cover

6.2 dod and vvt delete timing cover Hello everyone, new here. Thanks for answering in advance.
I am deleting the vvt and dod on my wife’s 2012 Yukon Denali 6.2. This is my first time being this far in an engine.
I got an upgraded stage one cam three bolt to replace the one bolt vvt and I’m wondering if I can reuse the timing cover if I have the ECU programmed to delete vvt and dod. Will the cam sensor still be able to read the cam position correctly.

No, you will need a non vvt timing cover. GM part 12633906. $128 @ Summit

You will also need a new Valley Cover, 3 bolt Cam Sprocket, at least 8 new lifters to replace the 8 AFM lifters, among other odds and ends. New head gaskets, head bolts, balancer bolt, might as well replace the timing chain, most switch to the LS2 style chain Damper, new cam retainer plate etc etc
