Default Horrible engine knock stock block LS1.

2001 Camaro M6: Car sat for two months while I was away for work. I came home and jump started it immediately it was tapping I figured it just need to re oil everything again. Well I let the car idle for 10 minutes then drove to the store 1 mile away on the way home an extreme knock developed & oil pressure was so so 30-40 PSI. I was pressing the gas hard or anything, I parked the car and plan to start tearing it down sooner or later anyone have any ideas?? I’ll post a link to a video. Car only has 36k miles, oil was perfectly clean & full.

LS1, stock 241 heads, TSP Torquer V2 cam, pushrods, .660 springs, IWIS timing chain, BTR Trunion upgrade rocker arms, LS7 lifters from BTR, new head gaskets.

Yikes! That doesn't sound good at all.

I would start with the basics. Remove the serpentine belt. If it's still doing the noise check with cheap $7 HF stethoscope to see if the noise is coming from the top end or bottom end.

Then go from there. Oil pressure is not that bad, like enough to cause damage. But anything is possible.

That is a weird noise. Agree that it doesn’t sound like rod knock but could be. Sorta Sounds like something hitting something else.
Almost sounds like the worst case of detonation I’ve ever heard

does it have fresh fuel with a bottle of dry gas?

Just used the stethoscope and the noise is loud on the intake manifold quite on both heads and both sides of block and oil pan

Very strange indeed.

So sounds like not head related or bottom end related? (Fingers crossed...)

Maybe something got sucked into the intake? Any evidence of mice? Since you mentioned the car sat for a while. Pop the air box...

Are you saying a loose rocker normally causes more serious damage? Not sure why you thought it might be too late to just tighten it down. Just trying to understand for my education because I don't understand how that could be an issue in the situation described, thanks..

Not so much that, more that the noise wasn't indicative of something far more severe.

"Not sure why you thought it might be too late to just tighten it down".
From the intensity of the sound, I would be suspicious of other damage... Like the lifter has been beat to death, the cam damaged, the valve bent, etc, etc.
