5.7L LS1 Cam and Valvetrain
If you wanted a more affordable cam, you could look at the summit 8707, 226/236, .600, 600, 113+3. Overlap is 6. Summit has packages that include springs, valve seals, etc for great prices. The summit 8715 (222, 234, .600, 575, 115+3) is an even better for driveability and great up top for the track. It wouldn't be as powerful as the 8707 though.
Texas speed and cam motion have lobes that are easier on the valvetrain. Bald eagle NA cam from TSP is solid 227, 234, .600, .600, 111+2 (8.5 overlap). Cammotions titan iv is also good at 227, 232, .612, .595, 113+4 (overlap 3.5). These two won't produce the same power and torque as the streetsweeper ht or even the summit 8707, but they will be easier on the valvetrain. Everything is a tradeoff.
Not sure how we missed this thread. That's an awesome truck you have there. We like the direction @Abs is thinking here. We'd typically stay in the "truck" cam range for a truck. However, with this combo, we can do things a bit differently.
We also think the SUM-8707R1 would be a great fit here. If you don't mind a steady lope and are ok with a 2,500+ converter we wouldn't hesitate going with it. ABS mentioned our cam kits. We have a variety available for most Pro LS cams. Check here for all 8707R1 kits.
