[QUOTE=Utinator;20558791]You definitely need a different intake. You will need a short runner intake to actually make power at those rpms. The longer runner (factory) intakes peak around 6,000-6,800 rpms, depending on the cam. I would give that new Summit intake a try. It looks pretty sweet, and will make power where you are wanting

Yes have to agree it looks great it would be nice to see some dyno results to before purchasing but it's something I can consider for sure !

@Waldo308355,

This sounds like a fun weekend toy that you don't mind having some character. Take a look at our SUM-8711R1 stage 4 extra clearance. Specs on it are .625/.605, 234/248, 114+3.5 with 14* of overlap. It's bigger than what we'd typically recommend for a 5.7. However, you have the compression with good supporting accessories and a light car to support it. It'll have a strong lope and accelerate hard in the mid-range and top-end. This will easily carry past 7,000 with the right supporting valvetrain and intake in a 2,500 lb. car. It sounds like you have some upgraded springs. You'll be in good shape as long as they are in good condition and equivalent to the Trickflow by PAC TFS-2500287P .660" lift duals. Our 11/32 with a .120" wall pushrods would pair nicely with those. You'll want to measure for pushrod length once the cam is installed before purchasing pushrods.

This would be an excellent candidate for one of our new Max EFI Intakes!

With this setup, you'll want a minimum of a 3,500+ stall converter. It would be an absolute riot that will turn some heads!

That cam could work my engine builder said something around that size would be what we would be looking for and as for the stall that wouldn't be a problem.i am wondering out of the 2 new Max efi intakes which one is going to suit this build best ? I also looked for some additional information is there any I can look at figures and tech sheet ?.🙂

@Waldo308355,

If you have the space go with the Tall Profile with the 102mm throttle body opening. You could use your 92mm ported throttle body to start with. If that shows to be a restriction with KPA you could always get a 102mm throttle body. If you don't have the clearance then use the Low Profile with the 102mm throttle body opening. Start with your 92mm throttle body and see how the KPA is. Then switch to a 102mm throttle body if necessary.

For the most up-to-date info on these manifolds including pictures with measurements check out our New Summit Racing Max EFI Manifolds thread. At this time we don't have any dyno results for these manifolds. We plan to in the future but don't have anything set in stone yet.
