When I got my new motor ready to fire up a few years ago, I did the weed sprayer priming method through the driver's side galley plug. Never got oil up to the rockers, but when I cranked it with plugs out I did get about 20psi on the gauge after about 5 seconds, and instant pressure when I first fired it up.
