Valvetrain oil Hey guys I've got a 5.3 oil pressure is 50 at idle 65 driving. It rakes forever for oil to get to rockers then after I drive it it's sounds like it's dry and noisey . It's got new lifters new cam new oil pump.

Your pressure numbers seem fine. Obviously the dry spell is concerning. Does your oil filter have the anti drain back check valve? I think most all filters have one, but maybe not. Are you running oil restricted pushrods? Some brands run a short length of roll pin/split pin to restrict oil to the rockers. If not, my concern would be the oiling method LS engines use. Oiling the lifters first, which then send oil to the bearings. If it takes that long for oil to reach the lifters, wtf is happening to the bearings??!

one time i paid to have a motor swapped in my truck and the wrong oil pump o-ring was used. oil pressure was good, but it would intermittently have loud valvetrain. sometimes it was quiet sometimes not.
