Need help - cam recommendations
OK, I have a dilemma. I have a 6.0 LQ4 in my 67 chevelle - LS6 cam, FAST intake, headers, 120k on engine now. Ported 853 heads. It has a oem ECU programmed by LT1swaps.com and a modified stockharness.Back when I put this together I just threw the LS6 cam in it as I wanted it very drivable. 4L60 - 3:50 gear
FF 15,000 miles later i developed a terrible noise in the valve train. I took off the VC and the #3 exhaust rocker is loose. Valve spring and pushrod are good. I assume the Lifter took a crap. I have a 1,000 mile trip planned in 3 weeks and zero time to work on this but im going to hammer it out
Anyone have a mild cam recommendation that will work with what I have? It does seem to run a tad rich now but not terrible. I'd like a couple more hp if I'm doing this.

If you want similar to the LS6 cam, but better specs, look into the truck cams from Cam Motion, Summit, Scoggin Dickey, and TSP, among others.
Look for intake durations in the 205-210 area, .550 or so lift, and 114-116 LSA. Though similar, anything in this area will run a bit better than the LS6 cam.

If you're open to upgrading springs that will handle .600" lift, the SUM-8728R1 212/218 110+3 .600/.585. If not, then the 209/217 112+1 .550/.550. Both will drive well, feel very responsive, and be a power improvement especially in the mid-to upper rpm range. The SDPC LS6 Powermax 204/222 112+2 .551/.570 or Cammotion 6.0L Stage 1 Truck 204/212 116+4 .553/.553 will also fit you wants.
Any cam you put in other than the LS6 cam will of course require some tuning.

I like the summit 8720 for you if your springs go to .600 lift. It's 218/227, .600, .600, 112+2.
If not, then there's a low lift version too. The 8701. 218/227, .522, .524, 112+2.
OP,
We like where the community is at with their recommendations. They are the same cams we would look at for this combo and goals. If you have or can swing a .600" lift beehive spring upgrade look at the SUM-8728R1 for low-end grunt or the SUM-8720R1 for strong mid-range power. Both would have a similar idle that would be smooth to a steady lope depending on tuning and idle speed. These will be easy to get along with in a 6.0 with -5* overlap (8728R1) and -1* overlap (8720R1).
If you were looking for LS6 Style spring-compatible cams look at the SUM-8719R1 or the SUM-8701R1.
Any of these would improve performance over the LS6 cam and require tuning. With more info on what springs you're using or willing to use we could fine-tune the recommendation.
