are the head gasket's the same far as thickness between the medal head gasket and the old style head gasket asbestos i think

 

Who cares? Fel-Pro I don't know how many times I've overheated or boiled my car now autox due to heat soak and they won't leak Don't overthink it especially if you were talking about the earlier cylinder heads with stupid pry notch, then definitely just get the 0.048" Fel-Pro and call it a day

 

From What I remember they are slightly thicker to compensate for the crush needed. But were talking less than .010 thickness difference.
