I think I might have found my problem. The pickup tube screen was full of garbage and goo from when I had the coolant contamination. I am not sure how it all got there but I'm dumb for not unbolting the baffle and checking the bottom of the pan when I installed it. It was absolutely filthy down there but at least I didn't see any metal shards. I'll still check those cam bearings tomorrow as it's getting pretty dark outside

If you do not loosen this bolt first, all you'll measure is the end play of whichever unit has the least amount of end play, the torque tube or the engine. I kept throwing a P0336 code on my C5. Shop checked crank end play, and it was around .005-.006". When they couldn't figure it out, I got the car back in my garage, and I figured out what was happening. I rechecked crank end play with the bolt loosened. I got almost .030"!!! Just saying....
Thanks for the info! I have a 3rd gen camaro with a 2wd swapped 4l65e. This only applies to the torque tube cars, right?

4L60E, 4L65E torque tube cars, NOT 6spd. manual torque tube cars.

I put a big chunk of modeling clay on the pickup and snug the pan down with a few bolts. The clay will give you the clearance number. The oil pressure numbers still indicate you have an issue, and it might not have a thing to do with the oil pickup location…but checking the clearance will give you data for later. Here’s a pic of a how I check the pickup clearance. It’s on a stand here, but you get the idea…

I have also gotten an ls1 pickup tube just in case. Is it much different from the one holley uses? I know that I'll probably need to modify my windage tray. The one that came with the ebay pan fits without having to cut the tray.

Youll want to use the pickup tube that came with the individual pan…pickups are designed to work with the individual pan sump depth. You can “unroll” the metal around the outside of the clogged pickup and pull the metal baffle and screen. Do this off the engine of course. Put it back together the way it cams apart and fold the metal back firmly. You can do this with all LS pickups except the drysump LS engines…their pickups won’t unfold because the metal is too thick. I disassemble all pickups when doing rebuilds to ensure cleanliness.

Tried checking the cam bearings, didn't really see anything unusual, but it was quite difficult looking for them under the car. I'll give it one last glance tomorrow before putting everything back.

I guess I was lucky. Today after putting everything back together, my cold oil pressure is at 55 psi, when hot it drops to about 50. At 4500 rpm its above 90 and doesn't seem to drop anymore. With the clogged pickup tube it didn't go above 70.

Glad you've got it working. However, I am not a fan of 90psi oil pressure at any rpm. You're costing yourself some small amount of power, and also chancing aerating the oil. My opinion...

That is why i use the stock type pressure pump. 90 PSI is a lot.
