what lifter to buy

hey looking at lifters for a 5.3 2002 what is stock or what is recommended? i read some where, ls7 is longer how do i know what are ls7 lifters? i see ls7 in a lot of adds. then i see the word ls7 out front. im looking for stock lifters and also seen these hl124 lifters

LS7 -spec lifters are good for all LS-type engines. They became the default LS lifter when the LS7 came out.

Caddy lifters are nice but they are pricey

I agree the LS7 lifters are the way to go. I am running those in my car. The Caddy lifters are nice, but pricey as said above. I would buy a set of LS7 ‘s and call it done.

LS7 lifters aren't "longer". They do however have more plunger travel internally than previous ones did.

Unfortunately you just have to trust the seller. The old adage "if it sounds too good [cheap] to be true it probably is" applies with a vengeance.

I have heard great things about the ls7 lifters. I bought a set and ended up with a knockoff set and chewed apart a motor.
I wish I remember where I bought them but would have to dig through the receipt pile. I accepted it for what it was and rebuilt.

Make sure to go with a reputable seller.

With my new motor we went with a set of comps.
