Oem+
Define "oem+".
Define "compatible".
What vehicle is this in? How much does it weigh? What gears are in it? What torque converter does it have? What is it used for now? What "other" uses do you want to put it to? What kind of budget are we working with here? How much driveability, gas mileage, reliability, etc. are you willing to sacrifice, in favor of attaining some other goal? What maintenance does the vehicle need now (brakes, tires, transmission work, or whatever) that would instantly render an "upgraded" LM7 pointless? What tools, garage, etc. do you have access to?
In general, ANYTHING "oem" isn't an upgrade, because ... it's the same as what's already there. There are exceptions of course, like putting on larger brakes from a newer or larger vehicle, or heavier drive train components from a higher-capacity truck; butt again, those kinds of things are only relevant in terms of your goals and budget.
General rule of thumb is, ANYTHING is "compatible", with enough welding wire. Some tings are "compatible" only in groups (cam & valve springs for example) while others are "compatible" on their own.
