Default Pushrod length opinions

I know this topic is often talked about. Quick run down. Measured for my pushrods and I'm coming up with 7.330 on intake side and 7.253 on exhaust. Im running the summit racing ls7 lifters. From what I've read the sweet spot on these is .080 preload. So the intake pushrod is easy. Just go 7.400 now the exhaust side I'm having trouble finding anything really close to my .080 preload spec. 7.350 would be just a hair under .100 preload. How critical is it to match preload on the lifters and what would you guys run?. Thanks in advance!

You will more than likely be just fine at the numbers you worked up.

However, If your ok with a slight bump in budget, just call up manton and get exactly what size you want.

shelf pushrods arent exact by any means by the way. No guarantees on the size printed on the shaft. Most are +/- .015 or so

Holdner did a great video on this where he did a really wide sweep on push rod lengths and dyno'd each. He had surprising results. Def. worth the watch. def on a n LS, may have been LS7 lifters too.

I hate to anthropomorphise a spambot, but that one was particularly lazy.
