yea that’s the plan I’m gonna run it till it goes. Hopefully my money catches up before I get a few extra neutrals😂

Thanks .any idea what rpm’s are at 65 mph with 3:73 behind a 4l60? that was the gear I was thinking as well. And I’m thinking 3800 stall

The stock 4l60e can live a long time if you are careful with it I'd just be putting a fair amount of torque management in the tune on the shifts to slow them down a little and keep everything in alignment and it might last longer than you think Big Cam is going to want around 7k shifts and so that's hard on the stock 4l60e especially 2-3 wot shift is usually where they break so torque management is your friend also a sonnax adjustable servo pin. It's easy to install and get rid of the slack in your stock band. This will help it last longer

will depend on tire size, there are a bunch of gearing calculators online you can put your info into

I wouldn't go any taller than 26" tire on the f-body, I really like the Hoosier dr2 drag radials in 255/50 r16 for the stock 16x8" wheels

So hci 5.7 with 235/240 cam 3800 stall and 3.73? You would be more than halfway through the 11's at sea level on the above tires with good tuning

Thanks man👍I’ve got the stock WS6 wheels on it now with the rear wheels widened to fit a 315 35 r17 nitto 555 rII . I used nitto because they run a little narrower but I think I can massage a little and get a different tire if the nittos don’t work out.
according to a calculator I used the overall height is 25.7

Nittos need to be burned until the smoke gets to the rearview mirrors, so expect a lot of eye rolling from The track officials

They may want you to use second gear to get the wheel speed up so things start happening quicker But that's harder on parts too just keep that in mind, I bought Hoosiers when my nittos wore down because my local track prep Is inconsistent and They seem to need the least amount of burning out to work and so they may end up lasting longer in the long run anyway If the track is good They just need a quick spin through the water box and they're ready

Add a Fast 102 and at least a 92 or 102 mm throttle body on it.

I ran stock LS7 injectors on my setup. Fast 102, PRC 225 heads, 232/234 112lsa cam, 1-7/8" headers to a 4" Flowmaster merge with a 4" cutout.

As everyone said it is all in the tune, I run a TSP MS3 cam in mine with a 3800 stall and other mods. I have zero issues with the tune. But a lot of time was put into tuning it properly!

3.73 it is! I pulled the whole assembly.Gonna clean up the housing maybe spray some POR 15 on it while it’s out. What fluid / friction modifier are you guys running? I was told the bearings don’t like synthetic even tho that’s what GM says to use?

Cleaned up the housing strategically over the floor drain then sprayed it with Rustolium reduced down to spray through a 1.3 3m accuspray. I’ll clearcoat it in the morning. Just waiting on the bearings shims , crush sleeve etc . And gotta get gear oil and additive then it’s go time.

Gears and a good converter will make it easier to tune large overlap cams. The reason is stock gears and stall puts too much load on the cam where it's the least efficient and that cause **** drivability.
