Default eBay reman heads

There are two or three sellers on eBay that offer remanufactured heads. They seem to have thousands of good reviews, have been around a while, etc. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I'm looking for something that doesn't break the budget but that has at least had someone go through them. Anything local seems to cost significantly more money.

Thanks!

What heads are you looking for specifically? Some heads have long term problems.

Call me chicken but I would source a set of used heads from a local salvage yard and have a local machine the heads. You didn't say what heads you are looking for. You might find what you need in the for sale section here on this web site.

If you've sold anything recently on ebay you'll know how bad the fees are. Usually local is better since you save on shipping. Between shipping and ebay fees I don't particularly understand how someone can make money on stock heads with low prices

I don't know the seller But a friend of mine purchased a set.
My self, I wouldnt have used them. The valve tips looked like they were surfaced on a bench grinder. The valve job was ok. How ever, I did not check all the worked preformed. Some of these seller accept anything back as a core and will try to re-use as much as possible.

I would rather use a local place where I can hold them accountable if something is not done correctly.

I was looking for a set of 706s or 799s. I did find a set at the local machine shop, they want slightly more than the eBay rebuilders but it's just easier to get them from the local guys. Plus, as mentioned, if there's something wrong with them I can deal with it locally.

Thanks!

I bought a pair of 799 heads a couple of weeks ago from J&C enterprises on EBay.
Stem to guide clearance was correct, spring heights were correct, three angle valve job that sealed, nice finish on the decks.
The only gripe was I didn’t care for the paint job and one exhaust port had some carbon left that didn’t clean up. The heads were packaged well and sent out the day of purchase.
