Extension stuck in harmonic balancer bolt hole/crankshaft
Probably the worst advice given here as well.
NEVER use any portion of the crank threads unless they’re BOTTOMED out to remove a balancer ever. Not just 6 or 7 spins. Even then I still would never use any portion of the threads to remove a balancer.
Use the proper Puller tool like most of us do…
or cut off a “bolt head”

I think this thread was informative and gave some insight on ways to address the problem and how to go about doing another way, however words got misconstrued and has led to personal attacks and now a moderator will have to come in to clean this mess up or

I’m going to say that the extension was never stuck. It was put in the bolt hole and the guy thought of a hilarious way to make you guys look like chumps. Internet lore, similar to the cobra owner whose girlfriend stole his supercharger. A tip of the hat to the original poster. Well done, sir.
