Did an oil change on my camaro today. Cut the filter open like I always do and saw some glitter in the oil. No chunks, very fine. Magnetic too. Pulled the pleats apart and found some bigger bits.
how hosed am i? Motor has about 7 or 8k on it. Oil pressure is good, roughly 25psi at hot idle. No abnormal or unhappy noises besides the normal sewing machine noises from the valvetrain.

Time to tear it apart period.
I would exasculty worry about the dog hair before the clunks of metal.
ANY visible metal in your oil is bad.
THAT much metal in your filter is VERY bad.
If that was mine, I'd procure a running take-out/ junkyard motor immediately- Install the running take-out/ JY motor ASAP, and then, take your time on tear-down, and find what parts are catastrophically disassembling.
