Questions about SLP/Rollmaster double roller timing chain.
Any tricks to installing? What about the spacers for the oil pump. I'm installing my Comp cam 224/.581 cam Wednesday. Another question. Do you line up the dots on the teeth. What I mean is on the crank gear there are 2 dots. One's on the sleeve above 0 degrees keyway and then there is one right under the teeth. I'm not advancing or retarding the cam at all.

Nothing special about the spacers. Just put them between the block and the pump and stick a bolt through em <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> That is a beefy timing set - I just put one on my car during my cam swap and the stock one just looks pathetic in comparison.

I have heard there are problems getting an aftermarket underdrive pulley back on because of the spacers/shims. Do you have a non-stock pulley? I am interested in knowing if this is true.

I have an ASP pulley on my car right now. Now problems at all. I believe the corvette guys had an issue with underdrive pulleys and shimming the pump for some reason.

I just did this yesterday. Is not hard to figure out just a little difficult getting the pump back on and the bottom bolt back in place. LOL But it CAN be done. If you want to install your cam straight up line up all the dots. I installed mine -2* so my dots dont line up. Thats up to you. Good luck Oh yea put a thin coat of RTV around the pump outlet on the pump and block. Also toss a dab on the other spacer and stick them to the pump. Wait about 30min and they will hold in place to make it easy (the spacers to the pump that is).
P.S. i'm installing the same cam with some ported heads. Good luck to ya!
