Renold chain same as Cloyes?
Ordered a Renold chain from GM. It is a single roller chain. I searched the Renold website for the chain specs, but had little luck.
I know some people really like rollmaster or cloyes chains. Is there a perceptible difference in the two products?
I did note the US address for the manufacturer is Cloyes-Renolds. They are in MI.
Search on part # gave the following:
Heavy Duty Timing Chain
Part Number 88958608
This is a heavy duty single roller chain that uses thicker, alloy steel sideplates to improve strength. It is a must for high performance Gen 3 engines.

Re: Renold chain same as Cloyes?
Hope this negates doubt about the GM parts.
Renold is stamped on the stock chain.
I did note on Summit's site they listed Renold as the mfg of the chain for the Coyles DR set.
The stock chain has thinner plates than the GM Perf chain.
