What is the difference between running say a 224/224 cam vs. a split cam like 216/224, 220/224 or something like that?
Would it be better to use the 224/224 cam with some stage 2 Absolute Speed 5.3 heads? Allen Futral recommended either his 220/220 or 224/224 on a 112 LSA, I know he knows his stuff. I was just wondering why he didn't recommend a split cam for my truck? Oh yeah, this if for the LS1 that I'll be putting in my truck by the way. Thanks

 

I may be corrected, but i remember reading a post that split cams are better for more free flowing exhaust cars (i.e. headers, less restrictive exhaust). Yet, I am no expert.

 

Don't know but assume GM went with traditional split for a reason.
