Oversized valve springs / retainers from MTI????
I bought a set of used heads that supposedly have a set of oversized valve springs and retainers from MTI.
The retainers look like pie plates! They were so big that I had to "clearance" my valve covers ('98 perimeter bolt pattern) to keep them from hitting a bolt boss.
I seem to have a lot of valve train noise. Is this normal?
If I wanted to use 918s or something similar, would there be an issue because of the seat in the head now being bigger?
I'm not running a huge cam, just a TR220.
Thanks

Mitch, there won't be a problem putting 918s back on the heads after the spring pockets have been enlarged. Just use the factory locator and you will be fine.
