Default cam help

i have been trying to decide on which cam to get for my 2000 ws6 m6. All stock for now gonna go with ls6 intake long tubes and maybe a set of heads when my wallet lets me. the headers and intake within the next couple of months. anyways i was trying to decide between 2 comp cams.

216/220 @ 50 525 532 lift on a 114 LS
or
222/224 @ 50 566 568 lift on a 112 LS

the car is a daily driver (about 100 miles per day) i don't want to rev it to the moon, but would like some what of a choppy idle at the same time. thanks for the help.

I would go with the 2nd choice to. Or mine is a 00 and a daily driver. I went with the TR .575/.563 230/224 111 lsa and it is driving great. The cam actually cam out on a 110 LSA when I got it and it still drives wonderful with the tune.

why not look into some of these cams? there are even some sound clips to go with them.

also some dyno results here from their corvette they are using as a testbed.

yeah the first one will sound a lot better than stock but not as lopey and cool as the second, i would really go with the second one unless you plan on going forced induction or want to stay emmissions legal.

Question

well to be totally honest i want the second but all the guys at comp that i talked to said the 2nd one would be better for me????????????? i am confused they said since i didn't want to rev it to 7000 that the first would give me the most power gain.... also i heard anything over 570 lift would need fly cutting b/c or piston clearance

first sentence didnt make much sence but that 2nd cam is not a 7k rpm cam, and should out perform the first cam throughout the whole rpm band. no you can run a lot more lift than that without fly cutting.
