Default Hot Cam user inside please

I know this sounds crazy but what type of affect on your gas mileage did switching to the Hot Cam have on your car? It seems only natural that with a higher lift and duration that higher gas consumption will go hand and hand. Thanks for you feedback.

When I had my Hotcam installed, I noticed a slight drop MPG, but nothing too drastic - maybe one MPG or two.

The big drop in MPG for me came when I installed a higher stall torque converter <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> I am averaging 11mpg now in mixed driving (city / highway - DAILY DRIVER) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Before the converter, I was getting around 14-15 mpg (all bolt-ons, plus the hotcam). Still not great, but a noticable difference to where I am now (10-11 MPG).

Hope this helps <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

On the highway with cruise set at 65-70 I haven't noticed any difference. Around town mileage seems a bit less but that's probably more due to romping on it more now *L* <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

In other words, no big difference.

Thanks for your replies. That helps a lot since I do mostly highway driving.

Went to Texas a couple months ago in my Hotcam/full bolton/4.30 geard Z. M6. 24.5MPG on the hwy at 75-80mph. Noo BS. Now around town with my lead foot. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> things are a little different.
