Not sure of the mileage on my block.

But it was supposed to be a Vette warranty take out for oil consumption.

Edit:
Oh yes ... I used Speedpro pistons. Supposed to be a little heavier than the Diamonds. It appears the extra weight is around the wrist pin.

A little more "beef" is OK by me as my setup sees 6K rpm for extended periods of time ...

How much is it normally to resleeve a 98 block? Like for a 4.00 bore?

I think I may try a 3.902 bore on my 98 block with 12-14psi on it, if it gives up I'll throw a 6.0L block in it after that.

A Resleeved block is only about $2,400. The core charge is only a couple hundred bucks too.

Contact Steve @ Race Engine Development for more information.

What are symptoms of an over-bored block?

So, do you guys think I should bore my 98' block to 3.901, 3.903, or 3.905"? I got it used with ~90,000 miles on it.

Hone (not bore) to 3.903/5 depending on who you get your pistons from.

Sounds like the consensus is go for it up to 3.907", lots of success stories so far.
99Silvo, hone according to the piston kit you buy. I went with JE specified for 3.905" ( the pistons were measured to 3.901" with 0.004" for tolerance ). I have seen a Lunati kit for the "stock" bore size of 3.898" even. Just use whatever sizing is recommended.
Oh yeah, make your piston choice first then go to the machine shop. I made the mistake of going with 3.898" and had to repay another $200 to get the rest of my 3.905".
